 This story is taken from the true experiences of two young women - in the same year (1960) and in the same place (Manchester England). I have combined their stories to make one semi-fictional account. For those who have strong views on abortion and race - please remember these events took place before birth control was available, abortions (even for rape) were illegal, and when black people were a rare sight in the almost wholly Caucasian towns of the North of England
