BC & Me
This was a fun and entertaining piece. We had that same cookbook at home. In my bachelor days I learned to make biscuits from it. Tried making bread once, but that took forever, so it was always biscuits.

Very Cute!!
This was a very good and funny little story. Very entertaining and just the kind of story I love to read!! :):):) My mother had a Betty Crocker cook book too. But I was very close with my mother and she and her mother along with my great-grandmother taught me to cook. But Betty helped some of the time. Lol!! Good Luck with your writing career. Keep writing!!

Boy does this relate. A gift from the bank for opening an account was my cullinary salvation. I dared not leave it on the shelf, however, and to this day I still use that tattered old thing. I wallpapered the cover, which was fading and ragged, but under that facade is  Trusty Betty. Thanks for the nostalgia journey. Good work. Paulie

riveting to the end, cute & fun. suspenseful in wanting to know the outcome, & hoping for a "happily ever after" ending with the perfect banquet feast.

Who Can't relate to that one!
A great short story. Although its listed under fiction, it's reality to many newlywed wives. Especially in "those days". I laughed aloud several times. What a hoot.
