Picture of Winter

Here is a poem I wrote based on winter and the winter holidays, (even though Thanksgiving is not technically during the winter, we normally have snow or deep frost so I always think of it as winter). The picture is one that I took of the frost on our greenhouse. It was truly amazing to see the different swirling patterns all over it.

Appealing
I liked how you covered so much holiday territory and its meaning.  I have no idea of the underlying work that is involved in developing such a piece.  Since I am not really into poems and Sonnets, I would not know how to be critical of a poet's work. Suffice to say I just enjoyed what I read.

Winter poem
Nice flow, you were able to evoke what I think many people get out of the season.  Personally, I am not a fan of the preachiness - and that isn't sympathetic to the winter of many people, thus they can't relate - but mostly that was inserted here and there, rather than being the overarching theme.  That is why I rated you fairly high.

Appreciation for the season
It's nice to read a work written by someone who appreciates winter. Where I live, most people hate it. However, your poem highlighted all of it's treasures. It was clean and well-paced. Good job.

Well executed
The first part of the poem is more about the physical world and the last part deals with the emotional. It seems like a transitional stanza could help take the reader from one to the other. Also, you can leave off the labels for each holiday, as the writing is clear enough on it's own there for the reader to figure it out for himself!

Winter
Isaiah, I really enjoyed reading this poem. The flow and meter were spot on for me. I like the way you approached the season with your eyes wide open to all that is going on around you. Goob job.

your peom
Your poem or two as it seems? are well written, however one part does not make sense to me, winter in Bethlehem, we celebrate the birth of Christ, who yes as a man, he gave his life to save us all in the Spring or at Easter, so that is sort of a mix up of the meaning of our Christmas or winter celebration vs. Easter, when he died and arose again. Just a technicality, no big deal
