Congratulations on your win Michael. And congratulations to Joe and Michelle for coming in so close.  Everyone did a fantastic job and I enjoyed taking part in it.

Thank you one and all... especially for the generous ratings most everyone gave me. Like Joe, I feel a bit overwhelmed at the response. Joe's story was just as deserving and I feel more lucky than anything else to have won.

And anytime I come in ahead of my dear friend, Michelle I'm a happy man. She's hard to beat.

I do have a question... does my entry need to be an original piece or can I enter a story I have already posted? Would "Dinner for Who?" be eligble?

Congrats to everyone who entered!

Another question... can I edit the story before I submit it?

Congradulations Michael, You are now banned from future contests. Just kidding. Good work.

a big thank you to all who partisipated in this contest. All the stories were good reads.

This has been an eye opener.  I always wondered why my stories never win contests but I never get to read the other contestant to be humble enough to say I need to read more.  I am a really picky reader.  If your story does not capture me in 30 words, forget it.  I dose off.  Now I can say I have reason to read more.  I have found a site where there are writers worth my reading time.  Not sure if I can critique yet.  I can get pretty harsh.  Michael, and Joe and Michelle really wrote awesome and thoughtful stories that reflects human reactions.  Their words just flow nicely to the end.

Congratulations to Michael and Joe--great entries guys! Wanted to thank everyone that took time to read and review and give me such helpful comments. I learn something new each contest. Congratulations to every one that put on their thinking caps and exercised their wonderful imaginations, this makes us all better writers! :-)

So, who has an idea for our next contest? Animal, vegetable, mineral? I promise not to write something so depressing this time... well, I promise to try not to write something so depressing... my characters tend to take over, so...

Also, I'm willing to limit it to reviews for any forum contest if everyone liked that better. Just let me know what you have in mind.

I have some ideas but I'll let someone else come up with something.  If no one starts one up soon is it okay if I start one??

Congrats to Michael!

Ideas for a new contest? I'll see what I can come up with.

Anyone who wants can start one. Go for it Virginia!

New contest idea? How about TORTURE ? Of any kind. Not necessarily the sadistic sort done to gain information. It could be suffering through a blind date or a trip to the dentist or jury duty or anything. I had a bit of torture this week when my mother went to the ICU and we had to wait outside. She's back home now, BTW... Anyhow, I guess we've all gone through torture of one kind or another. The other instance I remember was in the 80's when I was forced to attend a Tom Jones concert.

James Hold, ooooh ... I once had a blind date with a girl who had a bad case of body odor, not just cheap perfume.  I don't remember much about the date, except that while we were in the car, I couldn't get away from her smell.  Outside in the park, I stayed up wind from her.  I kept thinking, "Why doesn't her mother tell her about deodorant?"  I remember her now as not very pretty, but that image might be unfairly "tainted".

Okay James, are you willing to hold a TORTURE contest??  lol  That would be a great idea..   I'm sure we all have had a moment or so of torture in our lives.. :-)

Virginia:

Despite my name, I would not like to "hold" a contest. :-)

Meaning I wouldn't want to be responsible for it since I would automatically ban any previous contest winner from entering.

No, TORTURE was just a topic suggestion if anybody wanted to take the ball and run with it.

Jack and I have an idea. Check out the new forum post about the new Ivey League contest proposal

@James..  Yes I know..  lol   It is a wonderful idea for a contest in the future..  I have several ideas for contests in the future too..  I might even host one when this next one is finished..  :-)
